Highway 401 East isn’t just a straight line to Quebec – it’s the spine of a 542 km corridor with real landmarks along the way. Here is what our chauffeurs pass, in order, on every Toronto–Montreal run.
Every trip starts at your Toronto address — hotel driveway, condo lobby, corporate office, or Toronto Pearson (YYZ) / Billy Bishop (YTZ). We merge onto Highway 401 East via Don Valley Parkway or Highway 400 depending on where you are in the GTA.
About 1 hour 15 minutes east of Toronto. Known for the quirky Primitive Designs metal-robot sculptures visible from the 401. Nice quick coffee stop if requested — otherwise our chauffeurs push through.
The Prince Edward County wine region sits south of the 401 here — Sandbanks Provincial Park, boutique vineyards, beaches. Not on the direct route, but a common request for weekend passengers combining Montreal with a PEC stay.
Kingston is the natural midpoint of Toronto–Montreal. Historic limestone architecture, Queen’s University, Fort Henry. Our chauffeurs know exactly which Kingston exits work for a comfortable 15-minute stretch break — pass through as a rest stop, or extend into a proper stop if you ask.
Just past Kingston, the 1000 Islands Parkway peels off from the 401 — a slower, scenic riverside road along the St. Lawrence with 1000 Islands cruises departing from Gananoque. Adds 30–50 minutes if requested, ends at Brockville.
Canada’s oldest railway tunnel, lit up in colour and free to walk through if you’re stopping. Downtown Brockville is a pleasant break town, especially on longer 6–7 hour scenic runs.
The last major Ontario city before the Quebec border. Last easy chance for a fuel stop before the language switches and the highway changes name.
At Rivière-Beaudette, Highway 401 East becomes Quebec Autoroute 20. Signs switch to French. Speed limit stays 100 km/h. No border stop — it’s a provincial line, not international.
The western outskirts of Greater Montreal. A-20 begins to widen and city traffic picks up. Your chauffeur decides here whether to stay on A-20 all the way in, or use A-30 south-shore bypass if central Montreal traffic is bad.
Old Montreal, Golden Square Mile, Griffintown, Plateau Mont-Royal, downtown business towers, or Montréal-Trudeau (YUL) airport for a departing flight — door-to-door, ~5.5 hours pure highway time plus any requested stops.
The 401 has purpose-built ONroute service plazas spaced roughly every 80 km. Every plaza has washrooms, coffee, hot food, and 24/7 fuel. Here are the ones our chauffeurs typically use between Toronto and Montreal, in order.
Each profile uses the route differently. The vehicle, the timing, and the chauffeur briefing change with the use case. Match yours to dial in the right service tier.
Toronto-based C-suite executives with one-day Montreal meetings. 6:00 AM departure, executive seating, Wi-Fi for prep, arrival downtown by 11:30. Return same evening at 6 PM. Productivity en route, no airport security.
Parents, kids, grandparents, one SUV or Sprinter Van handles the whole party with luggage and stroller. Child seats on request (additional fee). Driver knows the rest stops, the kid-friendly ONroute amenities, and the Old Montreal hotel valets.
Bridal party, family, and guests transported from Toronto hotels to Montreal venues, Mount Stephen Club, Le Saint-Sulpice, William Gray, the Plateau heritage venues. Multi-vehicle dispatch coordinated under one booking number.
4–14 person teams heading to Montreal for quarterly reviews, M&A diligence, customer visits. Sprinter Van seats the whole team with executive comfort and a working arrangement. Net-30 invoicing standard for corporate accounts.
International visitors landing at Pearson YYZ Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 with a Montreal hotel reservation. Direct YYZ-to-Montreal pickup at the same flat rate. Meet-and-greet at arrivals, full luggage capacity, no transfer wait.
Chauffeur stays in Montreal for 1–7 days with the vehicle on standby. Used for executive offsites, multi-meeting business trips, family vacations, and milestone celebrations. Daily rate during stay; flat rate for the round-trip drive.
No surprise charges, no upsell traps. The price quoted at booking is the price on your invoice, every Toronto-Montreal trip ships with the same standard service package.
Ontario Class G licensed, defensive driving certified, formal attire, 401-corridor experienced. Familiar with Cobourg, Belleville, Kingston, and Cornwall ONroute stops, plus downtown Montreal hotel valet protocols.
No fuel surcharge. No mileage fee. No fluctuation by gas price. The flat rate covers every kilometre of the 130-km route plus tour-day mileage between stops.
Full Ontario commercial passenger insurance, not Uber’s third-party gap coverage. CVOR #213-535-524 active and current for cross-province Ontario-Quebec travel.
Live human dispatch every hour, no chatbots, no IVR maze. Call 1-855-370-3001 for changes, ETAs, route adjustments, or emergencies. Dispatcher can reroute the chauffeur in real time.
Chilled bottled water in every vehicle. Across 542 km of Highway 401 driving in summer heat or winter dry-air, this matters more than a pleasantry, guests appreciate it through every leg of the trip.
USB and USB-C ports in every seat. Onboard Wi-Fi in SUVs, Sprinter Vans, and Party Buses for guests who need to work the full 5.5 hours en route or join Zoom calls without dropping signal.
Flat-rate quotes locked at booking. No surge pricing during peak hours, holidays, or weather events. Your quoted price is final.

Just landed at a Toronto airport with a Montreal hotel reservation? We pick up directly from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) or Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) for the corridor drive to Montreal.
Pearson is the most common pickup point for the Toronto to Montreal corridor. International arrivals at Terminal 1 meet the chauffeur at Door A, Pre-Arrange Limo Desk. Domestic arrivals at Terminal 3 meet at Door A, Post #7, Pre-Arrange Limo Desk.
Give the limo desk officer your booking name. The officer calls your driver, and the driver arrives from short-term parking in approximately five minutes. We track your flight in real time and adjust pickup time automatically for early or delayed arrivals.
For a comprehensive Pearson airport guide, see our airport transfer service page or the dedicated Pearson airport limo service page.
Billy Bishop YTZ serves Porter Airlines and a smaller set of regional flights. The standard pickup uses the tunnel walk to the mainland front door. For paid Meet & Greet service, the chauffeur waits at the ferry-to-island sign with your booking name.
Executive travellers often combine YTZ pickup with a quick downtown Toronto stop (office or hotel) before the long-haul departure. Our dispatch coordinates this automatically with the Toronto to Montreal corridor schedule.
See our dedicated Billy Bishop airport limo service page for terminal details, Porter coordination, and standard versus Meet & Greet pricing.

The main Highway 401 East → Autoroute 20 route has zero tolls. There are two optional toll bypasses your chauffeur may use only if traffic requires it:
Both are passed through on your invoice at cost and only used with your consent – they are never added quietly.
Standard policy is one 10–15 minute stretch stop around the halfway point – typically the Odessa or Mallorytown ONroute plaza near Kingston (~2h45m from Toronto). If you want additional stops – coffee, meal, pet break, kids, or sightseeing at Port Hope, Brockville Railway Tunnel, or the 1000 Islands – just tell your chauffeur at booking or on the road. Extra stops are always accommodated and there is no meter penalty on the flat door-to-door rate.
VIA Rail Toronto–Montreal is around 5 hours station-to-station on a fixed schedule (Union Station → Gare Centrale). Private chauffeur is door-to-door on your own schedule with no station transfer.
Once you add commute time to Union Station, security lineup, and the taxi from Gare Centrale to your final Montreal destination, overall time is typically comparable. Chauffeur wins on privacy, luggage capacity, family / group travel, and door-to-door corporate arrivals. Rail wins on price for a single solo passenger who does not need door service.
Our 24/7 dispatch monitors Environment Canada, MTO 511, and Quebec 511 highway conditions in real time. If the 401 or A-20 has active winter closures or dangerous conditions, we contact you before pickup with either a delayed departure, a routing change, or safe-harbour options in Kingston or Cornwall if the storm hits mid-drive.
Every fleet vehicle runs winter tires from November through April and carries emergency winter kits. We do not push through unsafe conditions to hit an ETA – your safety comes ahead of the schedule.
